The threat of terrorism in Singapore remains high, according to a report released by the home affairs ministry. The ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the traction of radical narratives were highlighted as key concerns.

While no immediate attack is anticipated, Islamic State propaganda exploits local grievances and the Gaza conflict to promote armed violence. Since October 2023, six Singaporeans were identified as supporters or preparing to engage in violence due to the conflict.

Singapore's status as a secular, multicultural state with Western and Israeli ties makes it a target for extremists. Online self-radicalisation, particularly among youth, poses a significant threat. Since 2015, 17 youths have been dealt with under the Internal Security Act, which allows extended detention or restricted movement and internet access.

Furthermore, AI advancements facilitate terrorism by generating propaganda, creating synthetic multimedia, and planning attacks through targeted recruitment messages.
