Devastating Strikes: Russian Air Assaults Target Prisons and Civilians in Ukraine

A recent Russian airstrike in Ukraine's southeastern Zaporizhzhia region has claimed the lives of 17 inmates and injured more than 80 others, as per Ukrainian officials' statements on Tuesday. The assault targeted the Bilenkivska Correctional Colony, dealing significant damage to its facilities.

In the Dnipro region, further fatalities were reported, with four individuals confirmed dead and eight wounded. A missile strike in Kamianske devastated a three-story building and impacted nearby medical institutions, including a maternity ward. Regional authorities noted that among the injured was a pregnant woman, now in critical condition.

Ukrainian officials have strongly criticized the attacks, characterizing them as war crimes under international law due to the targeting of civilian infrastructure. The assault also included barrages of drones and missiles, partially intercepted by Ukraine's air defense but causing numerous casualties and widespread destruction.
