In a significant breakthrough for law enforcement, the Punjab Police announced on Tuesday the successful dismantling of a cross-border arms smuggling operation. Authorities apprehended an operative linked to a Pakistan-based smuggler.

Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav revealed in a statement on X that officers intercepted the suspect while he was en route to deliver a consignment of weapons retrieved near the India-Pakistan border.

The apprehension led to the recovery of five pistols, intended for use by criminals aiming to disrupt regional peace and harmony. An FIR has been registered at the State Special Operation Cell in Amritsar as the investigation seeks to unravel the network's broader connections.
