On Tuesday, Trinamool Congress MPs, along with other opposition parties, staged a protest in the Parliament complex. The protest was against the ongoing voter roll revision in Bihar, which they claim unfairly targets genuine voters ahead of assembly polls.
Led by TMC MPs including Derek O'Brien and Mahua Moitra, they raised slogans condemning what they termed as voter theft. The protest also saw participation from CPI(ML) Liberation MP Sudama Prasad, highlighting the united front against the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision exercise.
The opposition has accused the BJP of using the revision as a tool for voter suppression and backdoor NRC tactics. Demanding a debate in Parliament, the opposition parties aim to resist what they perceive as a subversion of democracy through 'votebandi', necessitating urgent parliamentary and public discourse.
