A sophisticated counterfeit auto parts operation operating in Delhi's Karol Bagh has been dismantled by police, leading to the arrest of 11 individuals, including the alleged leader Dheeraj Singh, aged 38.

Raids on July 26 at four locations in Karol Bagh led to the seizure of counterfeit automotive parts valued at approximately Rs 50 lakh and unaccounted cash amounting to Rs 19 lakh. The operation involved repackaging low-grade parts with false branding, distributing them as original equipment manufacturer (OEM) surplus or export rejects across Delhi-NCR.

The gang used cash transactions and untraceable UPI accounts with fake invoices to evade detection. Authorities also cited the use of online platforms to sell the counterfeit products, some vital for vehicle safety, posing significant public risk. Further investigations aim to unearth more links in this illicit trade.
