The Karnataka government has revoked the suspension of four police officers, including former Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda. The revocation follows the completion of both Judicial Commission and Magisterial committee inquiries into the June 4 stampede at Chinnaswamy Stadium, which resulted in 11 fatalities.

G Parameshwara, Karnataka Home Minister, confirmed that while the officers are reinstated, they will not resume their former roles. Instead, they will be reassigned to posts equivalent to their ranks as disciplinary proceedings continue. This decision comes in the wake of an official inquiry and representation submissions by the officers.

Notably, the suspension of Inspector General of Police Vikash Kumar Vikash remains in effect, as his case proceeds in the Karnataka High Court. Parameshwara clarified that the suspensions were administrative decisions, subject to Cabinet discussions, and don't reflect any governmental setbacks.
