In a move underscoring Germany's commitment to humanitarian aid, Chancellor Friedrich Merz revealed that two German aircraft are set to commence aid missions from Jordan to Gaza as early as Wednesday. Although described as a modest effort, Merz emphasized its significance during a press conference in Berlin with Jordan's King Abdullah.

The two A400M aircraft are currently en route to Jordan, where they will refuel before undertaking their aid mission. This operation is conducted in collaboration with both France and Germany, aimed at providing much-needed humanitarian aid to the region by the weekend.

Chancellor Merz commended initial measures by Israel to permit aid into Gaza but stressed the necessity for increased efforts. His statements highlighted the international call for continuous support in mitigating the humanitarian crisis.
