India has officially launched the registration process for the IndiaSkills Competition (ISC) 2025, the nation’s largest and most prestigious skill-based competition. Spearheaded by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), the event aims to recognize and nurture the country’s best talent in vocational training and skill development.

A Launchpad for Future Global Skill Icons

ISC 2025 offers a transformative opportunity for youth across all 36 States and Union Territories to showcase their talents in 63 diverse skill areas, from traditional crafts to cutting-edge technologies. The competition sets the foundation for participants to represent India at the WorldSkills Competition (WSC) 2026, the world’s largest vocational skills showcase featuring young professionals in more than 60 skill categories.

Registrations are open via the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) portal, and aspirants have until 30 September 2025 to complete their applications.

Who Can Participate?

The competition is open to all Indian nationals aged 16 to 25 years. Generally, applicants must have been born on or after 1 January 2004. However, for select advanced technology skills—such as Cyber Security, Mechatronics, and Aircraft Maintenance—the upper age limit is extended to those born on or after 1 January 2001, recognizing the deeper expertise often required in these domains.

The Selection Process: Multi-Tiered and Rigorous

IndiaSkills 2025 is meticulously structured to ensure merit-based, widespread participation:

  • Track I: State-Level Competitions Organized by State Skill Development Missions (SSDMs), this track caters to skill areas adopted by respective states and UTs.

  • Track II: Sector Skill Council-Led Competitions Conducted for skills not covered by states, this track is led by Sector Skill Councils (SSCs) to widen the participation base.

From these two tracks, shortlisted candidates will advance to Regional Skill Competitions (RSCs) across five geographic zones—North, South, East, West, and Northeast. This will be followed by national-level boot camps and finally, the IndiaSkills National Competition, which will be organized centrally by MSDE.

From National Podium to Global Stage

Winners of ISC 2025 will undergo intensive training and mentorship, preparing them for WorldSkills 2026 and other international platforms. This structured grooming ensures they not only compete but excel on the global stage, bringing recognition to India’s growing skill ecosystem.

IndiaSkills competitions also play a critical role in:

  • Enhancing the perception of vocational training as a viable and prestigious career path.

  • Bridging the gap between industry demand and skill supply.

  • Fostering a spirit of excellence, innovation, and competitiveness among youth.

How to Register

Interested participants can log onto the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) to register for ISC 2025. It is important to note that each participant may apply for only one skill category. Early registration is recommended to allow ample time for preparation.

IndiaSkills 2025 stands as a beacon for youth empowerment, industry readiness, and national pride. By competing in this prestigious event, young Indians take their first steps toward becoming global ambassadors of skill excellence.
