Sanjay Singhal Appointed as New DG of Sashastra Seema Bal
Senior IPS officer Sanjay Singhal has been appointed as the Director General of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). The SSB, responsible for guarding India's borders with Nepal and Bhutan, will officially welcome Singhal as DG from September 1, 2025. He succeeds outgoing chief Amrit Mohan Prasad.

In a significant appointment, Senior IPS officer Sanjay Singhal has been named the new Director General of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), tasked with safeguarding India's borders with Nepal and Bhutan.
The Personnel Ministry's order highlights Singhal's previous role as Special Director General in the Border Security Force, enhancing his credentials for this pivotal position.
Singhal, from the 1993 IPS batch of Odisha cadre, is set to replace Amrit Mohan Prasad after his superannuation on August 31, 2025, commencing his leadership of the SSB from September 1, 2025, until his own retirement in 2028.
