The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association has called for a judicial investigation into the suicide of Shweta Singh, a 24-year-old medical student in Udaipur. Addressing Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, they highlighted harassment claims against faculty members at her college.
In a tragic turn of events, Shweta, in her handwritten suicide note, detailed enduring two years of harassment, undermining, and extortion attempts by college staff. Despite notifying authorities, her allegations were met with indifference, exacerbating her struggles leading to her tragic end.
The association further criticized the inadequate handling of her death, noting delayed responses and threats faced by protestors demanding justice. They are now pushing for the arrested of named faculty and protection for students involved in the movement.
