Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) managing director, Prakhar Jain, has issued a flood warning as up to three lakh cusecs of floodwater are expected to flow into Prakasam Barrage in Vijayawada.
The Krishna River is experiencing rising water levels, prompting Jain to advise against travel and activities such as swimming or fishing in the river. He also advised against taking livestock into the river.
With floodwaters being released downstream, residents in areas along the riverbanks are urged to stay vigilant and exercise caution to ensure safety during this period.
