The Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) apprehended a Bengaluru woman, Shama Parveen Ansari, accused of promoting Al-Qaeda's anti-national propaganda in India. According to officials, she was engaged in promoting jihad against the Indian government through her social media platforms.

Ansari maintained two Facebook pages and an Instagram account that collectively had over 10,000 followers. These accounts were used to disseminate content from Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) and other radical figures, inciting rebellion against India's democratic structure and promoting discord within the country.

Her arrest followed the apprehension of four men in Delhi, Noida, and Gujarat, previously charged with sharing provocative AQIS content. Ansari was reportedly in touch with these individuals and other Pakistani contacts. Her content included speeches by notorious figures calling for armed insurrection against India.
