Delhi Tribunal Awards Rs 31.48 Lakh to Family in Fatal Road Accident
The Delhi Motor Accident Claims Tribunal has granted around Rs 31.48 lakh to Arun Kumar's family, a victim of a negligent motorcycle accident in 2021. Presiding officer Ajay Kumar Jain confirmed that the accident was caused by the motorcycle's rash driving, with no contributory negligence from the victim.

The Delhi Motor Accident Claims Tribunal has ordered a compensation of approximately Rs 31.48 lakh to the family of a 48-year-old man, Arun Kumar, who tragically lost his life in a road accident in 2021. The presiding officer, Ajay Kumar Jain, ruled on the case during a recent hearing.
The verdict came after a thorough investigation which showed that Arun Kumar was hit by a motorcycle driven recklessly on the Mahipalpur flyover on August 22, 2021. The tribunal found no evidence to suggest any contributory negligence on the part of the victim.
Adjudicating the claim, the court relied on the account of an eyewitness and police investigations that highlighted the negligent driving as the cause of the accident. ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Limited has been instructed to pay the awarded amount covering various compensation heads, including loss of dependency and love and affection.
