Pro-Palestinian Activist Wins Legal Bid Against UK Government Ban
Huda Ammori, co-founder of Palestine Action, secured a legal challenge against the UK government's banning of the group under anti-terrorism laws. The judicial review will address whether the proscription unlawfully restricts freedom of expression. Previously, efforts to pause the ban were unsuccessful, with significant legal consequences for group membership.

Huda Ammori, a prominent co-founder of the pro-Palestinian campaign group Palestine Action, has successfully initiated a legal challenge against the UK government's decision to ban the organization. The High Court in London is set to hear the case, probing whether the ban infringes on freedom of expression rights.
Despite an earlier failed attempt to suspend the proscription, Palestine Action's prohibition officially began on July 5, making association with the group a criminal offense. The UK government justifies this action by alleging the group's involvement in terrorism-related activities.
Judge Martin Chamberlain has greenlighted a full judicial review, acknowledging Ammori's arguments regarding disproportionate interference with freedom of expression as "reasonably arguable." The case brings critical attention to the balance between security measures and civil liberties.
