An 18-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping a five-year-old girl in a chilling incident that has shocked the Revati area.
The accused, identified as Elice Singh, allegedly lured the young girl to a secluded place while she was playing near her home on Monday. He was apprehended by the authorities on Wednesday.
The arrest came after the girl's uncle filed a complaint under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Deputy Superintendent of Police Faheem Ahmad Qureishi confirmed the action.
