The Indian Naval Ship Satpura recently docked in Singapore to partake in the Singapore-India Maritime Bilateral Exercise (SIMBEX-25), a move to bolster maritime security and regional stability in the Indo-Pacific region, according to the defence ministry's announcement on Wednesday.
SIMBEX-25 marks another important chapter in the longstanding partnership between the Indian Navy and the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN). The exercise commenced with a harbour phase featuring expert exchanges and discussions aimed at aligning doctrines and sharing best practices.
As the naval exercise progresses, advanced operations such as air defence and complex manoeuvring drills will take place. These activities are designed to enhance cooperation and operational coordination, significantly reinforcing a mutual commitment to maintaining maritime security and a rules-based order in the region.
