Lt Gen Pushpendra Singh to Assume Key Role in Indian Army Leadership

Lt Gen Pushpendra Singh, a decorated military leader with over 35 years of service, will become the next Vice Chief of the Army Staff on August 1. He succeeds Lt Gen NS Raja Subramani. Concurrently, Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan will become the Western Naval Command's Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief.

Lt Gen Pushpendra Singh, recognized for a distinguished military career spanning more than 35 years, is preparing to take on the role of Vice Chief of the Army Staff on August 1. This move follows the tenure of Lt Gen NS Raja Subramani, who had been serving since July 1 last year.

Additionally, Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan is set to elevate his career as the next Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief for the Western Naval Command. Swaminathan, who assumed the Vice Chief of Naval Staff position in May 2024, will take on his new assignment soon.

Further changes include Vice Admiral Sanjay Vatsayan stepping up as the Vice Chief of Naval Staff on August 1. Lt Gen Singh will bring extensive experience, having been commissioned in December 1987 and participating in significant operations like Operation Pawan and peacekeeping missions in Lebanon and Sri Lanka.
