Heavy rains have caused rivers in Rajasthan to swell, leading to significant overflow and increased water levels in dams. Major rainfall warnings have been issued for Ajmer, Jaipur, Bikaner, and Jodhpur divisions, with weather officials predicting continued deluges.
In response, the government has launched extensive relief operations. In Sawai Madhopur, Baran, and Tonk, rainfall exceeded 150 mm since Tuesday, prompting the opening of Bisalpur Dam's gates to release water. Similarly, the Chambal and Parvati Rivers have surpassed danger levels, necessitating strategic release of water in affected barrages.
State disaster management teams, including NDRF and SDRF units, have been mobilized across Kota and other vulnerable districts. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has directed officials to remain vigilant and has conducted inspections in Jaipur to oversee flooding countermeasures, including road repairs and drainage management.
