Misconduct Lawsuit Against Baldwin Dismissed: A Twist in the 'Rust' Saga
A New Mexico judge dismissed Alec Baldwin's misconduct lawsuit against prosecutors and officials over the 2021 'Rust' shooting. The judge cited inactivity in the case as the reason for dismissal. The lawsuit claimed officials conspired against Baldwin for political reasons. Baldwin was accused in the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

A New Mexico judge has dismissed actor Alec Baldwin's misconduct lawsuit against local prosecutors and sheriff's officials concerning the fatal 2021 shooting on the set of the movie 'Rust'.
The dismissal was due to a lack of 'significant action' in the case over the past 180 days, according to Judge Casey Fitch's one-page order made public on Wednesday.
While Baldwin's lawsuit accused officials of manufacturing a criminal case for personal gain, it followed the July 2024 dismissal of his criminal case for allegedly withholding evidence.
