In a significant crackdown, Punjab Police announced on Thursday the dismantling of an illegal opioid supply network. This operation led to the arrest of six individuals and the seizure of Tramadol tablets.

DGP Gaurav Yadav revealed that the investigation, initiated by Amritsar Police, stemmed from the recovery of 35 tablets in Amritsar, ultimately tracing the supply chain to a manufacturing unit in Haridwar, Uttarakhand.

According to DGP Yadav, the operation resulted in six arrests, including chemists, distributors, and the head of the manufacturing plant Lucent Biotech Ltd. Police seized over 70,000 Tramadol tablets, cash, and raw materials for drug production, highlighting the illegal diversion of medical stock.
