In the wake of allegations from the Congress concerning the targeting of jeans factories in west Delhi, Industries Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa has pledged firm action against any illegal operations. The minister dismissed claims of unfair treatment toward small businesses during a heated exchange over regulatory measures.
Earlier this week, jeans factory owners from the Vishnu Garden area raised concerns about factory closures with Congress MP Imran Pratapgarhi. They alleged a government conspiracy to indiscriminately seal business operations without any prior notice, further accusing local authorities of targeting small-scale entrepreneurs.
Mr. Sirsa responded to these allegations by affirming that no specific religion or group is being targeted. The government's actions, he noted, are solely guided by compliance with regulations, stressing that the sealing operations, which started in February, aim to close down illegal factories compromising the law equally across all demographics.
