Humanitarian Crisis Unfolds in Gaza Amid Aid Distribution Turmoil
US President Donald Trump's envoy, Steve Witkoff, arrived in Israel to address the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza. As Palestinians struggle for aid, 91 have died and over 600 are injured. Friction at distribution sites is high, with gunfire reported among those vying for resources.

US President Donald Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, has arrived in Israel to confront the deepening humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The dire situation has seen at least 91 Palestinians killed while attempting to access food and essential supplies in the past day alone, with injuries exceeding 600 according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
The distressing figures are expected to rise as more wounded individuals make their way to isolated and undersupplied hospitals in northern Gaza. Particularly harrowing was the event near the Zikim crossing on Wednesday, where 54 lives were claimed as they awaited distributed aid.
In a statement, the Israeli military acknowledged their forces had fired warning shots to control crowds besieging aid trucks, but insisted no injuries resulted from their actions. A security official, who wished to remain anonymous, suggested the gunfire may have originated from within the crowd itself, caused by altercations over aid.
