Lt Col Prasad Purohit, who, alongside six others, was acquitted by a trial court on Thursday in the 2008 Malegaon blast case, expressed contentment with the decision. He emphasized the importance of moving forward and focusing on serving the nation rather than dwelling on the past.
Purohit chose not to comment further on previous events, stating that he is pleased with the success achieved and prefers not to engage in discussions against anyone involved. 'There is more good in the world than bad,' he pointed out, expressing satisfaction with the verdict.
The former officer highlighted the significance of national service, reiterating his commitment. The acquittal came 17 years after the blast in Malegaon town, north Maharashtra, which claimed six lives. The court found insufficient evidence to convict Purohit and others, including former BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur.
