Slovenia's Bold Move: Arms Embargo on Israel

In a groundbreaking decision, Slovenia has imposed an embargo on the export, import, and transit of arms to Israel. This move, announced by Prime Minister Robert Golob, marks Slovenia as the first European nation to implement such a policy.
Following its recognition of a Palestinian state in June 2022, Slovenia has been vocal in calling for a ceasefire in Gaza and increasing humanitarian aid to the enclave. This stance comes amid international discussion after France, Britain, and Canada signaled potential recognition of a Palestinian state, a move criticized by Israel.
Meanwhile, U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff engaged in talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to facilitate Gaza truce discussions and address the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
