Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta took to the streets with a broom on Friday to inaugurate a month-long cleanliness initiative, 'Dilli Ko Kude Se Azaadi'. At the Women and Child Development department's office, Gupta expressed dismay at the infrastructure's poor condition.

Pointing out the precarious state of the ceiling fans and leaky roof, Gupta criticized the lack of repairs following a 2021 fire incident. She accused the previous AAP government of extravagant expenses on projects like the 'Sheesh Mahal' while neglecting essential maintenance work.

Gupta pledged to commence immediate plans for a new Secretariat to centralize government departments and improve working conditions. The campaign, involving thorough cleanups across all departments, aims to remove e-waste and outdated materials, re-evaluating waste removal tender processes for better efficacy.
