On Friday, Delhi witnessed a major disaster management mock drill across 55 locations, spearheaded by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). The exercise, dubbed 'Exercise Suraksha Chakra,' aimed at evaluating the region's readiness in case of natural and industrial emergencies.
The drill simulated an earthquake scenario, followed by potential chemical leaks across industrial and transport zones, impacting all 11 districts in the city and extending to parts of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.
Efforts were coordinated with the Indian Army and regional disaster management bodies, with the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) leading the operations. This marked a critical step in testing the region's emergency response capabilities.
