Prosecutors Oppose Diddy's Renewed Bail Request Amid Conviction

Prosecutors have asked a judge to dismiss Sean 'Diddy' Combs' renewed bail application, citing no change in circumstances since his recent conviction on prostitution-related charges. The Manhattan federal court submission underscores that federal sentencing guidelines may recommend a harsher sentence than initially calculated, potentially impacting his impending October sentencing.

Defense counsel argued for a USD 50 million bail, suggesting Combs deserves freedom while awaiting sentencing. Combs, 55, acquitted of severe charges but convicted on lesser counts, seeks release. However, Judge Arun Subramanian previously denied bail, citing a lack of evidence proving no danger to the community.

The defense highlighted similar cases where bail was granted and pointed to severe jail conditions as reasons for Combs' release. Prosecutors argued improvements in prison conditions and disagreed with the relevance of cited cases, asserting Combs' detention before sentencing is mandatory due to the gravity of his actions.
