In a pressing appeal on Friday, MDMK MP Durai Vaiko urged the Indian government to act swiftly to rescue a Tamil Nadu medical student, allegedly conscripted into the Russian military under duress.
Kishore Saravanan, a student from Cuddalore district, was detained by Russian police over a drug-related case. Despite no significant evidence, Kishore faces grim conditions, including coercion and forced military training.
His parents, who have already sacrificed much for his education, fear for his life as he is slated for deployment to Ukraine, pleading for urgent intervention.
