The Women and Child Development Ministry announced on Friday that 746 fast-track special courts have cleared over 3.25 lakh cases, primarily involving rape and child sexual abuse. Among these courts, 405 are exclusively POCSO courts, operational across 30 states and Union territories, aiming to expedite justice.

Uttar Pradesh emerged as the leader in case disposals, with nearly 90,000 cases resolved. This is followed by Madhya Pradesh and Kerala, addressing over 31,000 and 25,000 cases respectively, according to Savitri Thakur, Minister of State for Women and Child Development.

Efforts to enhance women's safety and support continue with the establishment of women help desks and emergency response systems nationwide. Additionally, the ministry plans to upgrade 2 lakh Anganwadi centers as 'Saksham Anganwadis' to improve nutrition and childhood care services.
