In Bihar's capital, Patna, police detained several job aspirants on Friday as their protest sparked traffic disruption. The demonstrators demanded the implementation of a domicile policy in government jobs, which would secure 90% reservation for local youth.
The rally, organized near Gandhi Maidan and led by student leader Dilip Kumar, was a significant push for acknowledging long-standing grievances regarding job reservations in the state.
Despite the aspirants' release post-detention, the state government continues to oppose the policy due to constitutional concerns, recently limiting women's job reservation benefits exclusively to Bihar's permanent residents.
