In a swift operation, Delhi Police have apprehended two individuals connected to a recent temple theft that shook the Burari area in North Delhi. The suspects, including a local scrap dealer, were found possessing the stolen religious artifacts.
The accused, identified as Dalip Kumar, 38, and Rahees Malik, 47, were arrested after detailed analysis of CCTV footage from the site. This led police to recover the idols and brass items reported missing from the Mahakali Shiv Mandir.
The theft had been reported on July 27 when the temple's priest, Kamal Shastri, noticed the disappearance of several precious items after returning from a morning prayer session. Thanks to quick police action, the items have been restored to their rightful place.
