Karnataka's Home Minister G Parameshwara announced the state's vigilant monitoring of digital platforms concerning claims of mass burials in Dharmasthala. The government warns against posts inciting societal unrest amid ongoing allegations of mass murders and sexual violence enshrouded in secrecy for two decades.
The allegations, presented by an anonymous ex-sanitation worker, claim the forced burial of numerous bodies, including women and minors, some exhibiting signs of sexual assault, between 1995 and 2014. The state has mobilized a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to delve into these accusations.
SIT chief Pronab Mohanty met with Parameshwara amid speculation of his potential reposting due to an empanelment for union government roles. The Home Minister assured that no immediate postings are planned and emphasized the ongoing focus on regulating fake news and digital misconduct.
