A 28-year-old individual was apprehended by Delhi authorities after allegedly stealing a mobile phone on the city's Metro, officials disclosed on Friday.
The suspect, identified as Mohammad Anam, was found in possession of two mobile phones, recovered by police. The alleged crime took place on a Tuesday, prompting the victim to file a report claiming their phone was taken while traveling between Lal Quila and Mandi House stations.
The police registered an e-FIR at the Supreme Court Metro station and conducted a thorough review of CCTV footage from the Metro and train interiors. This investigation led to the arrest of the suspect on Thursday, aided by an informant. Anam admitted to the theft and confessed to previous similar offenses. The case remains under investigation.
