In a recent interview, former U.S. President Donald Trump clarified his stance on clemency for high-profile individuals. Trump announced that no one had approached him regarding a pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell, the British socialite sentenced to 20 years for aiding Jeffrey Epstein in the exploitation of underage girls.
Trump emphasized his awareness of the right to grant clemency but mentioned he had neither been requested to do so nor knew much about the intricate details of Maxwell's case. He asserted that his decision-making on clemency had not been swayed by any external influence or request.
In the same breath, Trump also stated he had no intention of pardoning Sean 'Diddy' Combs, who faced legal repercussions following his conviction for charges related to prostitution earlier this year in July.
