A special court is poised to declare the sentence for former MP and suspended JD(S) leader Prajwal Revanna in a rape case at 2:45 PM on Saturday. Judge Santosh Gajanan Bhat convicted Revanna, aged 34, on Friday in one of the four sexual abuse and rape cases he faces.
Prosecutors have pushed for life imprisonment for Revanna, intensifying the anticipation for the upcoming sentencing. The case has drawn significant attention due to the involvement of a political figure and the serious nature of the charges.
The charges relate to incidents involving a 48-year-old woman employed as domestic help at the Revanna family's farmhouse in Hassan district. She was reportedly raped twice, once at the farmhouse and again at a Bengaluru residence in 2021, with the acts allegedly recorded by Revanna on his mobile phone.
