Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has appealed to Union Minister for Environment, Bhupender Yadav, to allocate land for families affected by recent natural calamities in the state.

During the meeting, Sukhu highlighted substantial damages caused by cloudbursts and heavy rainfall, which have destroyed infrastructure and homes and resulted in loss of life.

With the state primarily under forest cover, Sukhu called for easing forest laws to expedite rehabilitation and urged tailored norms for hill states. He also addressed the recurring cloudbursts and consulted with the Home Minister on disaster impacts, emphasizing a special needs approach.
