The Central Crime Branch has apprehended two individuals for sending obscene messages and issuing rape and death threats to former Mandya MP and actress Ramya. The arrests came after a complaint was lodged by the actor earlier in the week, according to Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh.
In a press briefing, Singh revealed that 11 more people have been identified for posting abusive content online and are set to be arrested. Ramya, who also goes by Divya Spandana, reported 43 social media accounts for sending her threats after she commented on a murder case in which Kannada actor Darshan is involved.
CCB identified 13 accounts involved in the abuse, and two suspects from neighboring districts have been detained. Ramya thanked local authorities for their prompt response, stating it's tough to dodge legal repercussions when women's dignity is at stake.
