Strengthening Forensic Capacity for Narcotics Control: NFSU Partners with CRCL

The Gandhinagar-based National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Central Revenues Control Laboratory. This strategic partnership aims to enhance inter-agency coordination and boost enforcement methods concerning cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The NFSU announced that this collaboration is set to significantly bolster the nation's capability in investigating and prosecuting violations associated with the NDPS Act. It is also expected to facilitate specialized training programs targeting forensic professionals and law enforcement officers.
In addition, the alliance will promote research to stay abreast of evolving drug trends and generate scientifically validated, court-admissible forensic evidence to support swift and effective legal actions. Present at the MoU signing were Surjit Bhujabal, Special Secretary & Member (Customs), and Dr. J M Vyas, Vice Chancellor of NFSU.
