The Bombay High Court has issued a three-day temporary bail for Aditya Avinash Sood, an accused in the controversial Pune Porsche crash case, following the death of his father. The decision came after Sood's counsel, Advocate Abid Mulani, petitioned for interim bail, enabling Sood to partake in funeral rites.
The incident, which dates back to May 19 of the previous year, involved a high-speed Porsche, reportedly driven by an intoxicated minor, causing a fatal accident that resulted in the death of two IT professionals in Pune. Sood is among those arrested for allegations of swapping blood samples to influence the juvenile driver's alcohol test results.
Special Public Prosecutor Shishir Hiray did not oppose the bail request, which was granted against a PR bond of Rs 25,000. Authorities allege Sood's blood sample was replaced with his father's, involving personnel from Sassoon General Hospital. Sood is permitted bail from August 2 to 5 with the ruling delivered by Justice Ashwin Bhobe.
