The discovery of a 35-year-old woman's mutilated body in a field near Afzalgarh town in Bijnor district, Uttar Pradesh, has sparked controversy and concern.
Afzalgarh police, led by Circle Officer Rajesh Solanki, suggests the woman was attacked by a leopard while collecting fodder, leaving her severely mutilated. However, forest officials, headed by Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Abhinav Raj, believe the injuries indicate murder, with the possibility of animal interference post-mortem.
The body has been sent for a postmortem as investigations continue to unravel whether it was a tragic wildlife encounter or a heinous crime.
