In a coordinated operation, Dehradun Police, together with the Uttarakhand State Task Force, dismantled an illegal casino operation in a house located in Dehradun, arresting 12 individuals on charges of gambling.
The operation, conducted in the late hours of Saturday into Sunday, unveiled that the group included suspects hailing from Delhi and Nepal. Upon raiding the premises, officers found the suspects allegedly engaging in illegal gambling activities. All those present were detained under the provisions of the Gambling Act.
The police disclosed that Shashank Gupta, aged 38 and a resident of Gurugram who owned the property, was among the arrested. Authorities confiscated approximately 1,900 casino coins, Rs 89,000 in cash, 12 mobile phones, and a vehicle. The investigation is ongoing, with police collecting information related to the suspects' bank accounts.
