Sunday marked a significant moment as the NSCN-IM celebrated a decade since the historic Framework Agreement was signed with the central government, reaffirming its dedication to Naga sovereignty. Chairman Q Tuccu lauded August 3, 2015, dubbing it a 'Red Letter Day' for recognizing Naga sovereign rights.
At a commemorative event, Tuccu underlined the need to protect the agreement's sanctity, warning of both internal and external threats, including accusations against the Working Committee of the Naga National Political Groups for compromising Naga identity by adhering to the Indian Constitution.
As the government inked similar agreements with both NSCN-IM and WC-NNPGs, Tuccu denounced any collaboration, urging unity against elements threatening the Naga movement. Despite concluded talks in 2019, unresolved demands for separate symbols of Naga sovereignty linger, delaying the political issue's resolution.
