Nepal's Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli is scheduled for an official visit to India, which experts believe could be crucial in fostering trust and resolving outstanding issues between the two nations. This sentiment was echoed by former diplomat Shambhu Simkhada during a recent forum on Nepal-India relations.
The visit is suggested to include high-level political discussions to address any bilateral disagreements. Mohan Lohani, another foreign relations expert, emphasized the growth in India's economy and technology, suggesting Nepal could gain significantly by aligning more closely with its southern neighbor.
Nischal Nath Pandey advised Oli to travel by land, which would allow the Prime Minister to observe firsthand the advancements India has achieved in infrastructure and development under Prime Minister Modi's leadership. The visit marks a significant diplomatic engagement since Oli's inauguration last July.
