Chaos and Kidnappings: Terror Strikes Zamfara in Nigeria's Northwest
An attack by armed men on motorbikes in Zamfara, Nigeria resulted in 11 deaths and over 70 kidnappings, escalating the region's ongoing crisis involving banditry and mass abductions.

In a devastating attack, armed men on motorbikes killed 11 people and kidnapped over 70 others, including women and children, in a small village in northwest Nigeria. The incident, reported by eyewitnesses, occurred late Saturday in Sabongarin Damri in Zamfara State.
Witness Isa Sani described the moment the assailants rode into the village, recklessly firing their weapons before abducting residents. Dubbed locally as 'bandits,' these groups have increasingly plagued the region, seizing countless individuals for ransom and leaving behind a trail of violence.
Zamfara has been heavily impacted by these attacks, which have severely disrupted daily life, leading to mass displacement and terror. Authorities report that security forces have made over 2,109 arrests and freed 175 victims in recent months, highlighting the prevalent danger posed by these bandit groups.
