As the sixth anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370 approaches, Union Home Minister Amit Shah met with top security officials, including National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and Director of Intelligence Bureau Tapan Deka, to assess the current security scenario across the nation.
The abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, led to the bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir into two Union Territories, and the demand for restoring its statehood is gaining momentum. Prominent figures and parties are renewing calls for legislative action.
Political leaders across the spectrum, including Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and CPI leader D Raja, have requested the central government to expedite the restoration process, emphasizing it as the people's fundamental right.
