Bribery Scandal Unveiled at Jhalawar Municipal Council

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a clerk and a middleman in Jhalawar on charges of accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000. The arrests stem from a broader scandal involving the municipal council's chairman, Sanjay Shukla, who allegedly sought a bribe of Rs 50,000 for clearing a pending land conversion file.

Following a complaint lodged by the victim, the ACB verified the charges and executed a sting operation resulting in the arrest of clerk Akash Kalosiya and middleman Ajay Kumar. The amounts were renegotiated from the initial demand before being settled at Rs 30,000.

Chairman Sanjay Shukla has been missing since the arrests, and ACB officials continue to investigate the case under various sections of the anti-corruption law. Further actions are anticipated as the investigation progresses.
