The Allahabad High Court has refused bail to Bablu alias Ballu Musalman, linked to the notorious Bikru massacre led by Vikas Dubey. This decision, made by Justice Saurabh Shyam Shamshery, was based on the serious nature of the allegations and the ongoing trial process.
The chilling incident happened on the night of July 2, 2020, when Vikas Dubey and his associates ambushed and killed eight police officers, including DSP Devendra Mishra, during a raid in Bikru village, Kanpur. Dubey was subsequently killed in an alleged encounter while trying to escape custody on July 10, 2020.
Bablu has been imprisoned since his arrest on August 25, 2020. The court found no grounds for considering his detention prolonged, thus rejecting his bail application.
