In response to widespread rumors concerning drones being used for criminal activities, authorities have intensified efforts to control and monitor drone operations, officials confirmed on Tuesday.

District Magistrate Dharmendra Pratap Singh has categorically dismissed the rumors as unfounded, encouraging the public to refrain from spreading unverified information on social media platforms. Emphasizing the importance of regulation, he stated that drone operators must obtain permission from the district administration, specify operational areas, and report relevant details to the local police.

Superintendent of Police Rajesh Dwivedi revealed that investigations found several social media posts on drone sightings and subsequent thefts to be baseless. Vigilance has been heightened, with security personnel and committees tasked with educating the community on the issue. Meanwhile, unauthorized drone activity remains banned across several districts, with potential punishment under the Gangsters Act or even the National Security Act for violators.
