In Indore, a Youth Congress leader is facing legal action after being accused of promoting religious conversion through a WhatsApp status, authorities confirmed on Tuesday.
Saugat Mishra, the city president of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, filed a police complaint against local Youth Congress president Rameez Khan. The complaint alleges that Khan posted a WhatsApp status featuring two human hearts with the message 'Converts to Islam' and captioned it 'Life with Allah'.
According to Mishra, the status suggested that converting to Islam cleanses a non-believer's heart. As a result, a case has been registered under the Madhya Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act, with police confirming an ongoing investigation.
