Raushan Sharma, a man wanted in connection with over 18 criminal cases across Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal, attempted a bold escape on Wednesday morning in Patna's Phulwari Sharif area. The accused seized a weapon from a police officer while being transported in a police van.
The situation escalated when Sharma tried to flee, prompting a police officer to use retaliatory force. Consequently, Sharma ended up being shot in the leg and was immediately admitted to a government hospital for treatment, as confirmed by Patna SSP Kartikeya K Sharma.
Authorities were in the process of escorting Sharma to capture other alleged accomplices when the incident occurred. The police insist that the force used was necessary in response to the threat posed by the accused.
